The American Fork Cabin

It all started when…

After building The Cheyenne Cabin, decorated with a classic cowboy theme, we set out to create another unique, functional and cozy cabin. This time however, the decorating evolved around a Pendleton blanket called, “Hear Me My Chiefs”. The story of how we obtained this special blanket, was as unique as the blanket itself. David became aware of an artisan named, Terry Ball, of Cascade, MT who had spent a great deal of time studying the history of Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce Indians. He had worked for Pendleton and designed the blanket to tell the story. The blanket has the key colors of pink to represent salmon for sustenance, and two tones of blue to reflect sky and water. The blanket also reflects the story of Chief Joseph’s final battle under the Bear Paw Mountains at The Big Hole Battlefield on August 9th, 1877. The US Army surprised the Nez Perce, who thought they were safe in Montana and unfortunately both sides suffered heavy losses. David was able to obtain one of the 200 limited edition blankets, and the rest is decorating history. The American Fork cabin has six super twin beds which can be made up as three king size beds if desired, a full kitchen and bath, air conditioning and propane fireplace.
